My Horrible Experience with eco-wooden-homes, Bangalore

I am one of the many victims of Eco-Wooden Homes in Bangalore, owned by Mr. Vijay Singh at the below address:

To put our sorry story in short:


Vijay Singh of Eco-Wooden Homes agreed to build 9 wooden cottages for our yoga and ayurveda center near Mysore and has taken more than 50% as advance. On the promised date, not even a single was ready - and we had to loose more than 10 lakhs of business, as an event is scheduled to take place in these new cottages....

After seeing his bihari workers who are newly appointed and working terribly slow, without any supervisor and owner sitting in Bangalore, we have decided to halt the project as we lost the confidence in this company to built a proper wooden cottages, as they are advertising on their website: http://www.ecowoodenhomes.co.in/ and some photos he is showing from somewhere else.
Then, he offered us to complete 5 cottages within the next 10 days time and 4 other cottages within two weeks after Diwali... Also he offered us 10% discount on overall project.. 

As two houses are 50% complete and two more houses work just started, we settled down to this promise and gave him 10 days time... 

He did complete five cottages within 10 days - BUT, a bit BUT, all five cottages are HORRIBLY BAD - from Engineers, carpentry, quality of wood and work concerned. 

All five houses roofs are slanting and weight falling to one side... because they did not put any proper pillar support and all the weight on walls which are not properly fixed - even tongue-groove are properly fitted in some places... and using of various mixed pieces of wood - so many cut pieces, even for roof beams, made the entire structures weak.. Today we have five cottage but all of them may collapse any with some strong winds and rains or naturally by wrong roof work... Actually a small rain causing water leakages, in spite of double groove tiles, that we insisted of putting.. 

We also found that he cheated us with the quality of wood, is not what he promised. And for one house he is used some local wood, instead of  European oak/pine wood as he promised. And the combination of so many mixed type of woods made the wooden cottages look so ugly that we have to pay a lot of money to engage a polish company form Kerala to make the wooden walls look a bit clean.. Actually Vijay Singh is supposed to polish the cottages, as per contract... but we found that he is using some cheap colour mixed polish to hide all the wrong mixed varieties of wood which looks ugly, obviously...

So, after 10 days he and his workers left our campus, with all houses faulty and horribly bad.. When we complained about all the problems.. He promised that he will be coming back immediately with his carpenter and fix all the problems that we can show him.

Instead of doing that, he kept pressing us, to complete 95% of the whole project money (for five horrible house he completed and 4 cottages not yet started even).. Remember he has already got more 60% of the project, which already leaves with him five laksh, even after taking the full money for 5 incompleted cottages. 

When we told him that we doubt his ability to build these houses, after seeing he has done with five cottages, we want him to do all the repairs and make the five cottages 100% perfect - as he has already money for them, before asking for more advance for 4 cottages he didn't start at all... 

He didn't respond and as we are scared that he will not do the repairs and leave these 5 houses which may collapse anyday, we offered him, okay, bring the wood for 4 more cottages to our campus to collect 50% of  balance.. and when they actually start the work of building we are ready to pay 25%... and the balance payment at the end of the work - as we are not sure he will not do the same mistakes he did with 5 incomplete houses...

But he didn't budge nor he responded for many days... After threating to lodge a cheating case with Police or to approach the consumer court, he told at last, he doesn't have wood and needs to get from Europe.. for which he doesn't have money as he is in some losses... So, he says, without our advance money he can't get the wood from Europe and it will take another 20 days to get the wood, even if we pay him 95% of project money as advance, inspite of seeing how badly they build the five incomplete cottages... 

So, he kept talking, discussing for several days and weeks.. At last he didn't repair and we still have those 5 incomplete cottages, which are horribly bad... and we lost a business of above 50 Lakhs and also our international partners and reputation from our clients and field we have been working for more than 15 years.. 

So, now are compelled to go to the consumer court and a case is going on....
